I love watching crime shows! Not because of the gore…but because of the justice!
The other day I was watching one of these shows, and learned something new. It is a proven fact that victims, if kept long enough develop what is known as Stockholm Syndrome. They grow to believe in, trust, and even love their captors!
In this story, a child had been abducted at the age of three and was never found. Twelve years later, the boy turned up, still with his abductor. When the police searched the apartment where they had been living, they found bars on the windows and padlocks on the windows and doors. However, the locks were no longer locked, and the boy was allowed to roam free through town and elsewhere.
When the two were finally apprehended, the FBI questioned the boy and asked him why he hadn’t run away. His response was disturbing. He said he didn’t know he had been kidnapped. He went on to say, “This man you say abducted me when I was three, is the only father I have ever known. I love him…”
Reminded me of Satan! Until Jesus finds us…the devil is the only father we have ever known. We don’t even realize that he stole us from our Creator! He makes us think we are free to go wherever we want and make our own choices…but he is there…hiding in the shadows watching our every move. We believe we are free…because the visible locks are gone, but he has spent years convincing us that we need him. We are NOT free…we are BOUND by fetter chains; chains that have wrapped themselves around our hearts, and twisted our thinking!
Jesus is the only one who can truly set you free! “If the Son therefore shall set you free, ye shall be free indeed. ” -John 8:36 KJV
Do you want to be truly and absolutely free?
Do you want Satan as your father?
Or do you want God The Father to be your Father?
Then there’s only one question you need to ask yourself….
“WHO’S YOUR DADDY”
