It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; -Proverbs 133:2

Take a look at the above verse….  Oil in the Bible depicts the Holy Spirit.  Notice how the oil was on the hair of the head, then it went onto Aaron’s beard, then it flowed down his garments; it never touched his flesh.

The inference I see here is that the Holy Spirit cannot use you when you are walking in a fleshly manner…doing your own thing…not serving God.

Now, take a look at Exodus 21:5 and 6.

And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.

These verses tell us that if we truly love our Master (God), then we will want to stay with Him forever.  He will make His mark on us,,,folks will see a difference in us and know that we belong to Jesus!

The awl in the ear lobe of the bondservent is a picture that he has chosen to only listen to the words of his Master, and to do his bidding only.

I don’t know about you, but I no longer want to walk my own way…I want people to see a difference in me!  I want God to pour out His Holy Spirit upon me, and use me in a special way!  I want Him to put an awl in my ear…make His presence so obvious that folks will see a change in me.   I want to only listen to the words of my Master-Jesus, and follow His bidding!

Listen to HIM.  Let His words get into your mind and your heart…then your hands and your feet will only do His will!
