Below are some verses telling men, how to become godly fathers. These are a few of my favorites! Enjoy! -anita
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates. –Deuteronomy 6:6-9
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; –Psalm 103:13
…as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” –Joshua 24:15b
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. -Psalm 127:3-5
6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. -Proverbs 22:6
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. -Ephesians 6:1-4
This last verse in Ephesians is one verse that we as parents (not only fathers), should remember to follow! We sometimes provoke our children, and they show their anger. We need to do all things in our discipline with LOVE!
Read verse 4 again…
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
