While reading through one of my many books, I found the following statement. It is very poetic…it is short…but to the point! It is what every Godly mother should want for her children; but, sometimes as mothers, we have “plans” for our children. We want them to be Doctors, Lawyers…we want them to have wonderful jobs so they won’t have to struggle through life as we have had to do. We want the “best” for them.
However, because we want the best for them in this life, we sometimes forget about the next life and what it has to offer.
Jesus said this: “Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.” – Matthew 6:19-21 (MSG)
In other words…don’t worry about making a name for yourself here on earth. Don’t trouble yourself with making a fortune here…. Think about your rewards in heaven. Think about the name God will give you in eternity!
God made each of us for a purpose…our role as Godly mothers is to help our children find that purpose and live it out.
Here is the statement we need to remember! …
“I want to help you to grow as beautiful as God meant you to be when He thought of you first!” -George MacDonald 1824-1905
