THE RUNNING MAN…

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. -Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

*******************

I was reminded of that old movie called, “The Running Man,” as I reluctantly crawled out of bed to meet my day.  I think I even said out-loud…”So…here it is already… the dreaded Monday morning”!

As I sorted out at least five (5) “mountains” of laundry…I sighed a heavy sigh and shook my weary head.  Then I saw my poor husband descend the stairs, and realized that his day would probably be worse than mine!

The week-ends seem to go by so fast, and then it is time, once again to climb back on the ‘running wheel’  of everyday life.  But, did you know that a running wheel-like those used in hamster cages are  held on a stand by a single or pair of stub axles?  This is what holds the wheel in place-keeps it together amidst the frantic exercise of the hamster that seems to be going nowhere.

Did you know that as you seem to be going ‘nowhere’ in this daily rat race called life, there is One who holds you in the palm of His hands, and keeps your world together?!  Did you know that you aren’t held on a stand like the running wheel, but your feet are placed on The Solid Rock, which is Jesus Christ?!

So take heart mom, as you do your daily, never-ending chores; be encouraged dad, as you leave your place of refuge called home, and deal with the unpleasantness of the work day.  Remember that God Himself is holding you!  Find strength in that, and KNOW that you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up!

KEEP ON RUNNING!
