“Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life…”-Psalm 23:6

I would like to say the following was my brilliant idea…but it wasn’t!

I saw an article in Our Daily Bread entitled Thanks Living.  It was a story about a woman who wanted to become more mature in her spiritual life and her walk with God.  She decided to start a Thanks Living jar.  Every day, she would write something on a small piece of paper, and put it in the jar.  Some days, she had something to thank God for; other days, were hard, and she struggled to find something good in her present situation…but always put a “thanks” in the jar.

At the end of the year, she emptied her jar and read through all the notes.  She was surprised at the simple things He had provided-beautiful sunrises and sunsets,  as well as solving the difficult situations she went through.

I decided to follow suit, and start my own jar this year.  I’m sure I will be amazed when at the end of the year, I go back and look at all the wonderful things God did for me.

I usually thank Him and remember the problems He solves for a short time…then I tend to forget.  This will be a great reminder to me, and make me count my blessings more often.

If you’d like to join me in this endeavor…start today, and at the end of the year, feel free to send me some of your biggest blessings and I will share them on the blog.  It will be great to see how God works in our lives everyday!

We’d do well to remember that, the goodness and love of God follows us ALL the days of our lives!
