There were so many good things in yesterday’s sermon!  If you weren’t there…you really missed out!!

Pastor was talking about how Jesus loved us so much, that he chose to leave His heavenly kingdom, be wrapped in flesh and come to earth to dwell among us.  But it didn’t stop there…then He chose to die a terrible death; to take all of our sins upon Himself; to save us so that one day we could go to that heavenly place and live with Him.

The following verse was the last thing we were left with.  It goes like this…

But he (Jesus) was pierced for our transgressions, he (Jesus) was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him (Jesus), and by his (Jesus’) wounds we are healed.  We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD (God) has laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all. – Isaiah 53:5-6

When we got up in the morning, before we left for church, my husband found an old CD I’d  made for him when we first got married.  It was my way of telling him how much he meant to me.  The first song on there was by Bryan Adams.  The song is called, “When You Love Someone.”

As I listened to that song while getting ready…even before I heard the sermon, I was thinking about the words in the last verse.  To me…these words are not only talking about a relationship between a man and a woman…but the relationship that JESUS wants to have with us. The last verse says this:

When you love someone, you’ll sacrifice
Give it everything you got and you won’t think twice
You’ll risk it all, no matter what may come
When you love someone

If you could hear Jesus sing this over you, He would be saying this…

I loved YOU, so I sacrificed Myself.  I gave  everything I had…and I didn’t think twice.  I risked it all…no matter what the cost; because I loved YOU!

Today, and always, let us remember just how MUCH Jesus loves us…and if you don’t yet KNOW Him…listen closely…He’s singing to you right now!
