Joyce Watke said:  “I thought today of friends who have meant so much to me along life’s pathway, and my heart welled up in praise to the Lord above; and this is what I prayed:

“Dear Lord,

I thank you so for those in life, who show me that they really care;  Who care enough to sweetly try the burdens of my heart to bear.

I thank you, dear Lord, for those in life, who look beyond the outer shell;  Who care enough to look within and lend an ear, for my cares to tell.

I thank you most for each in life, whose strength has made me strong.  Who cared enough to gently show me what I needed when I was wrong.

And ever, may I be quick to be to someone else, what those in life have meant to me.  May I lift them up, and help them on, to walk more closely Lord to thee!  Amen.”
