“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves those that be of a contrite spirit.” -Psalm 34:18.
I love the above verse in the Bible! I had a broken heart almost all my life, until I got to know Jesus!
Sunday, at church, we sang the song, “Holy Spirit”. Kari Jobe does such an amazing job on this…it evokes the Holy Spirit to be present!
I love the song, and love to sing it, but every time I try to get through it, I’m unable to do so. It reveals to me my deep need of God’s presence in my life. At times, I forget how much I need Him…especially when things are going well for me; but, let things go awry, and I remember in a hurry, as I fall to my knees and beg for His presence!
Don’t let yourself come to that place…that place when you only remember Him at your darkest hour! Remember…He is ever present…He hasn’t gone anywhere…it’s us, that turn our backs and walk the other way. He loves us no matter where we are in life, and He wants to have fellowship with us. THAT’S WHY HE DIED FOR US! Call on Him every day. Invite Him to come into your home, your place of work, and sit next to you. Never forget…He’s the BEST friend you’ll ever have!
I’ve changed the wording a little to fit myself…
“Holy Spirit…You are welcome here. Come flood MY space, and fill the atmosphere! Your glory, God, is what MY heart longs for…to be overcome by Your presence, Lord!”
