I will believe, though dark the way may be,
Though naught but shadowed spectres now I see.
I will believe, of nothing be afraid,
For fiery darts, of doubts, are often made.
I will believe, for God is on my side,
And Jesus for our sins was crucified.
The cross, the empty tomb, assurance bring.
And on His mighty arm my soul does cling.
I do believe. Be gone ye angry fears.
The aching heart, the bitter scalding tears!
For Christ has died, and Satan’s overcome;
My Savior’s heart and heaven are my home.
