THE BIBLE (WRITTEN BY A 10 YR. OLD) March 18, 2015

“…Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”  Mark 10:14

I think the bible is the most helpful book ever.  Some reasons why it is the best book ever are; it tells us what to do and what not to do.  It’s helpful in times of need.  It tells you about Jesus.  It leads us the right way.

The bible tells us what to do and what not to do.  It protects us from being hurt.  If the bible says don’t be mean to people and you don’t listen you could be punched.  It helps us be nice.  It also helps us be happy.

The bible is very helpful in times of need.  Like if you are becoming poor or in need of money.  Also if you are feeling really bad like if you’re mean to your sister, the bible will help you say sorry and feel better.  Reading it often will make you joyous.  Also very happy.

The bible also tells about Jesus.  It says that he is the king of everything, so if you get mad at a tree because you ran into it, don’t get mad at it because Jesus is the king of it.  Also everything happens for a reason.  It helps us understand more about him, so we have no disbelief.  So we can trust him.

It leads us the right way.  It tells us the rules so we get to heaven.  It helps us not to feel bad if we sin.  So we can be happy.  It helps us feel good about ourselves.

So that’s why I think the bible is the best book ever! (and most important.)  So there are a few reasons why you should read this.

NEVER CHANGING LOVE March 17, 2015

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

Can you hear me call your name?  Can you feel all my pain?

My Heart is like dark clouds, and the rain…without you!

I long to see your face…to meet you in our special place.

I call out to you, but you don’t hear me any more…

I’m waiting with arms open wide, my love never-fading ’till you stand by my side; through Heaven’s door we’ll walk, you and me…for all of eternity.

I’m standing here with arms open wide, a love never-changing… that can’t be denied.

Won’t you please return to me?

We walked so closely one time before; for my Word, you hungered, more and more.  My light is so faint within your heart…it seems you don’t know me anymore.

The love we had, was so very real.  This hole in my heart, only you can fill.  I gave all I had, on that lonely hill…

Won’t you please return to me?

I’m waiting with arms open wide, my love never-fading, ’till you stand by my side; through Heaven’s door, we’ll walk, you and me for all of eternity.

I’m standing here with arms open wide…a love never-changing, that can’t be denied!

Won’t you please return to me?

A NOTE TO MY CHILDREN… March 16, 2015

“Place these words on your hearts.  Get them deep inside you.  Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. TEACH THEM TO YOUR CHILDREN.  Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home, or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night.  Inscribe them on the door posts and gates of your cities so that you’ll live a long time and your children with you…”

Deuteronomy 11:18-23

…so if I don’t write often enough in this book that’s why.

You kids are my “book”.  If I don’t leave behind a “Magnum opus” on paper or canvas or a recording of value, it is because I was working on you, my loves!

Each one of you is a masterpiece, formed and hewn by God.  He has allowed dad and me to help out in supervising your growth for a while.  You have been blessings to other people already in your own distinct ways…

He Knows March 18, 2105

HE KNOWS March 9, 2015

I will never leave you or forsake you…” Hebrews 13:5

He knows when we are weak,

He knows when we are strong.

He knows when we are right,

And He knows when we are wrong.

He sees when we have joy,

Or when we’re lost, and searching for a friend.

He brings us joy and happiness,

In Him, we always have a friend.

Because…Jesus is ALWAYS there!

Ps 139:1-4
1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.

The God Who Knows

Ex 2:23-25
Exodus 2:23-25 (NLT)

Years passed, and the king of Egypt died. But the Israelites continued to groan under their burden of slavery. They cried out for help, and their cry rose up to God. 24 God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 25 He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act.

Pharaoh’s instructions to persecute the chosen people

  • To enslave the Israelites, setting ruthless taskmasters over them
  • For the midwives to kill all their baby boys at the time of birth
  • After that fails, to throw all baby boys into the Nile

God Hears

When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears. (34:17)

God Remembers

But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.”

But God replies:

Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands (Isaiah 49:14-16a)

Hebrews 13:5 (NLT)

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,

“I will never fail you.

I will never abandon you.”

God Sees

The Psalmi94:7:

“The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.”

Psalm 33:13 (NT)

The LORD looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.

Hebrews 4:13

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

God Knows Your Sufferings

Then the LORD said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings (Ex 3:7 ESV)

God Knows Your Future

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jesus Knows
Hebrews 2:18 (MSG)

16-18 It’s obvious, of course, that he didn’t go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed.
Our Call to Know

Philippians 3:10 (NIV)

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

The Temptations

1 John 2:16 NIV

For everything in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–comes not from the Father but from the world.

  1. Don’t let your desires obstruct your mission
  2. People notice what you desire

Titus 2:12  say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

  1. Don’t idolize the red carpet

A LOVE LIKE THIS March 13, 2015

Let’s take a journey deep inside the heart because really, that’s the best place to start.

Your heart is your lifeline. It is where God lives in us. What do you associate with hearts?

LOVE

To have Gods love in us is unexplainable. I will do my best to give you a good idea of a love like this.

Close your eyes and picture this-

You have made a big mistake or have done something terribly wrong to someone or have affected them by your choices. You feel so terrible and can’t seem to get over it. The person says;”I forgive you.”

That is a love like this.

Your child says; “I love you more than all the stars in the sky and more than all the dirt in the world and galaxy.”

That is a love like this.

You hold your newborn for the very first time.

That is a love like this.

You cry every time you go to church.

That is a love like this.

You see a beautiful sunrise or sunset.

That is a love like this.

The scent and beauty of a flower.

That is a love like this.

Jesus dying on the cross for you and me.

That is a love like this.

So take a journey deep inside your heart and look for God in every part,

Because……….

HE IS A LOVE LIKE THIS!

GOD SAID… March 11, 2015

God said…

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I’m a healer?

If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I’m a deliverer?

If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself a overcomer?

If you never felt sadness how would you know that I’m a comforter?

If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I’m forgiving?

If you knew all, how would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble, how would you know that I will come to your rescue?

If you never were broken, then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem how would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering, then how would you know what Jesus went through?

If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things, how would you come to appreciate the things you have?

If I never corrected you, how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power, then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect, then what would you need me for?

PASS THIS ON TO SOMEONE WHO IS DEAR TO YOU…

MC CROSKY’S POND March 10, 2015

“Search me O God, and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me…”  Psalms 139: 23 & 24

It had become a ritual for Braden to walk the small parcel of land left to him by his father.  It was almost as important to him as his morning devotions.

In the middle of the property, was a small pond.  On hot days, he would stoop down to drink from its coolness.  It was so beautiful…like a small oasis, with tall trees lining its edges and giving shade to the weary traveler!

The pool sparkled so cool and clean, it’s contents so refreshing.  It was his sanctuary…his refuge.

On one particularly hot summer day, as Braden neared his special place, a soft breeze began to blow. It felt good against his sweaty skin as he closed his eyes and stopped momentarily to enjoy it.  Then, he pressed on, ever eager to reach his favorite place of peace and rest.  He couldn’t wait to taste the clean, clear water and quench his parched throat.

As he reached the banks of the pond, he stooped down, cupped his hands and was ready to revel in the coolness of its depths.  Just then, the soft breeze that had caressed him only moments before, became gusty.  The tree tops swirled wildly above him, and the light of the noonday sun penetrated the shade as shafts of light reached the bottom of the pool.

As he peered into the pond, he saw for the first time, the REAL contents that lay beneath the surface.  There were bottles, and trash, old rusty car parts, and even some polliwogs!  The water wasn’t clean at all!  It was muddy and murkey…it was full of impurities!

Our hearts are like that pond.  We look so innocent, so clean, so pure.  But when the breath of God sweeps over us and the light of His Son, Jesus, penetrates the depths of our souls, we finally see how impure we are.  Only then can we realize and admit to ourselves, and to God, that we need to be cleaned up…cleaned out…made new.

Only Jesus can do that for us!
