GOD’S LOVE April 1, 2015

Ps: 62, 5-8

Find rest, O my Soul in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

God is not weak. He is not feckless. He is not uncaring, nor unmindful. He alone is my Rock and my salvation. He is a fortress! God is the only one who looks at you with only one thing on His mind. His unending, unconditional, always ready to love you thought. It does not matter what we think he thinks about us. He has already made up his mind about you. He loves you with an unending, unconditional love. Who else do you know that loves you that way? With no conditions? I will not be shaken.

Won’t you just receive it today? Find rest O my soul, in God alone;  Won’t you just relish in the fact that he loves you? Let Him do it, let Him show you. Let him overwhelm you with His love. Trust in Him at all Times. Give him free reign in your life to do whatever his bidding is. I dare you! You will never feel the same again. You will have higher expectations about true love and won’t settle. You’ll be changed forever.

There’s one little requirement from you though…. It means letting down your guard, releasing the shame and guilt you have held on to for so long because you think you are un-lovable. O, People, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. No easy task, but the payoff is worth it. He will protect your heart and not be careless with it.  He already knows everything about you. Your salvation and your honor depend on God.

Won’t you let Him Love you today… He already does you know!

CONVICTION March 31, 2015

“Him that cometh to me…I will in no wise cast out.”   John 6:37

This addiction I’m in,

I know it’s a sin

When did it start?

How will it end?

It started the day I was born;

In a world that was torn

In two pieces.

Right and wrong,

This is my song.

Where do I belong?

I belong to God, right?

I need to fight…

To do what’s right.

The flesh feeds,

As the enemy breeds.

This addiction is my affliction.

TRUE LEADERSHIP March 30, 2015

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself  the form of a servant…” Jesus, at the Last Supper, used His last moments with His disciples to impart to them important lessons they would need when building His Church. He didn’t talk to them about organizations, rules, finances, establishing hierarchies, or the like.  Instead, He took a towel and a basin of water and began to wash their feet. Giving them an example of what true leadership looks like, He demonstrated servant-hood and humility. By:  Terry Shapiro

IDENTIFY THE LIE! March 27, 2015

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control…”  2 Timothy 1:7

Our feelings can be a good indication of whether we are living with a renewed mind, or the old, un-transformed mind.

If we are feeling fearful, this is evidence that we are believing lies.  We can examine our thought processes to identify the lie, and then replace it with Gods truth!

“Pray without ceasing.”  I Thessalonians 5:17

I have a laser light I use when I play with my cat.  She’s an indoor pet, and although she is only a year old, she’s already fat from lack of exercise.  She loves the interaction between us, and becomes quite grumpy and aggressive if I fail to have play-time with her on a daily basis.

As she and I played this morning, I heard God say to me, “You know what Neat (that’s my nickname), you’re just like that cat.  You’ve become fat and lazy…almost complacent in your prayer life.  If you would just interact with me on a daily basis, you wouldn’t be so frustrated!”

Are you sitting in the boat next to me, or am I all alone here?  Do you only pray when you need something, and can’t seem to ‘fix it’ by yourself?  Just like my cat needs to interact with me, I…YOU…WE, need to talk and commune with God everyday!  We’ll be much happier if we do!

…As a matter of fact…everyone around us will be happier too!

BENDED KNEES March 25, 2015

“…For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts…”  I Chronicles 28:9

Take me down on bended knees

Open my eyes

Make me see

All that You have created me to be

Take me down on bended knees

Open my heart

Tear it apart

Go back to the very start

Make it like Yours

Pure and clean

THE SEA March 24, 2015

“Who is man that you are mindful of him?…”  Psalms 8:4

I want to go to sleep with the rhythmic roar of ocean waves as the tide goes in…the dark, black expectation…

I want to wake early in full sun.  Sun shining into my room.  The clear sky, a glimpse of azure; a brilliant glint of sun upon the water…the expectation…

A new day…running down to the beach; mind heedless of morning chair, or coffee, or breakfast…or anything else.

Cool sand beneath my bare feet, damp from the night.

Hundreds of tiny shells.  Bubbly froth of seawater’s ebb and flow.

The smell of fish.  There’s a strong temptation to swim in the water…but no; too early…too cold.

Mid morning.  Sun drying the sand.  Warming up…ocean so blue-green.

Staring far, far away at a ship.  Small prop plane waving a sign for a happy hour…

The sea is beckoning me, “Swim!  Swim!  Swim here!”

Thank you God for making this place!

NEW LIFE March 20, 2015

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law.”  Galatians 5:22 & 23

It was almost Spring.  The air was cool and crisp as I walked through the woods.

The dead, decaying leaves of the previous Fall still lay ankle-deep on the forest floor.

Looking up at the almost naked trees, I could see new life trying to come forth.  Small green buds were popping out of the branches, pushing off the last dead clinging leaves.  The trees would soon be in full bloom…lush…green…beautiful!

Standing alone in the quietness, still hearing the occasional dead leaf fall as new life tried to break forth, I was reminded of my own life.  I had been dead, and lifeless in my trespasses and my sins.  But Jesus found me, and something wonderful happened!  As His love and knowledge of salvation coursed through my veins, I became alive!  And, just like the still clinging leaves, as His life ran through me, the old, dead things fell away.  I saw myself standing ankle-deep in my old sins.  Old habits fell off around me like chains being undone…I was breaking free!

The old leaf, (sin) of bitterness was replaced with joy.  Instead of hatred, I felt love.  No more chaos, only peace.  No grudges…only forgiveness.  The harsh words left as gentle ones replaced them.  Bad things were gone.  Only goodness remained.  Instead of believing the worst, I hoped for the best.  My spirit became quiet and meek, not confrontational.  I finally could keep myself in check, whereas before, I did things in excess.

Then it hit me…and what a revelation!  The fruits of the Spirit are not ONLY manifestations of what we as believers are to bear in our lives; but also fruit that we have access to partake of on a daily basis!
